“Emerge in Power”
January 7th – 28, 2018

Luke 4:14 “Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went throughout all the surrounding region.”
The objective is to build the faith of the Kingdom Citizen in order to EMERGE from a dry place into abundance.
NOTE* In the Kingdom of God, we do not fast for religious reasons, we fast for relational reasons. We know that fast strengthens our relationship with God and awakens our spiritual sensitivity. Therefore, the plan laid out in this document is not a mandate or directive that must be followed to the letter.

PRAY, CONSULT with the Holy Spirit, VISIT your physician (if necessary) and TALK with your family before entering the consecration.

Feel free to modify this plan to best be incorporated into your lifestyle.  Lastly, if for some reason the plan is broken, don’t feel guilty; simply, continue and trust the Lord for the rest.  To live in guilt or self-pity during the consecration would be adverse to your progress.  God always looks at the heart and not how many meals you are denying yourself.

What is a Consecration?
Consecration is the intentional giving of one’s whole self to God as a means of personal sacrifice to sanctification for a specific time frame.

Romans 12:1-2 MSG “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”

What is Fasting?
A willingness and abstaining from natural pleasures for spiritual renewal
Your personal commitment to renounce the natural for the spiritual
Daily dedication to pray and pursue biblical knowledge instead of eating
The decision to aggressively pursue God’s presence with all your heart
Time to really focus your mind and soul on tapping into God’s will
It’s not dieting but gaining supernatural power by weakening the flesh

Why Fast?
Mark 9:28-29 And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?” 29 So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

Some things you can’t get done without fasting and praying fervently
Fasting pays the necessary price in getting into a place of “rest” before God
The Kingdom of God is a spiritual country; we need to fast so we can have power to overcome the kingdom of darkness. The discipline of fasting is the only way for us to increase our power and authority over the powers of darkness.
Fasting increases your spiritual power to face adversities, sickness and hard times.
No more distraction; press into God and receive His help ~ even Jesus had to fast to gain power to defeat the strategies of the devil.

What Do We Fast?
